ducky ducky

I really do not like birds. I think they're scary (thanks Home Alone pigeon scene) and kind of dirty, and I'm constantly worrying they're going to give me the bird flu.

However, I'm consistently drawn to jewelry with birds on it.  Is my subconscious trying to purge my body of its fear?

Or, maybe, they're just normally very well done. For example, these adorable Piper bobby pins.  I think it would be OK if I wear them, since they look more like ducks than birds. And ducks are much less scary.
