spring weekend?

I don't know if I've ever felt this way about winter, but January is flying by.  Is it seriously halfway over this weekend?

Even though there are about a million (for real) things I'm looking forward to from now until spring, and I'm certainly not wishing the time away, these spring things have me smitten.

Would it be inappropriate to wear a sundress out this weekend?

i scream

Last night, I just couldn't quite shake my extra playful feelings.  And after being cooped up all day, I was itching for an activity.

Due to my constantly-growing desire for warm weather, I decided to make ice cream sandwiches.

Although my supplies were dwindling (aka not enough butter for the cookies) I managed to make peanut butter cookies, with chocolate and peanut butter chips.  Then I put chocolate ice cream in between them.  Needless to say, they were insanely rich, but Jim and I managed to choke down one. Or two.

What they had in flavor, they lacked in beauty, but that didn't stop us. However, it did stop me from posting photos, so instead I'll leave you with my inspiration...

Stripes in the winter?

Why not?

Check out my post on incorporating the springiest of styles into your winter wardrobe. Happy striping!

summer camp winter camp

All this snow has me feeling extra playful. I've already been dreaming of making s'mores in the microwave, and now that we're technically snowed in (at least by Georgia's standards), I'd really like to make a fort.

A fort + make shift s'mores basically equals summer camp.  Who's with me?

snow day

Last night, as the snow started pouring and quickly accumulating on the ground, Jim and I were both giddy with excitement. Although we both grew up with snow. And I moved to Georgia with the hope that I wouldn't see it for a while. And he is from New Hampshire where they get two feet and don't bat an eye...

Yet, we were both still filled with child-like excitement at the prospect of four inches.   We watched the scrolling cancellations as if we were in elementary school, praying for our superintendent to have mercy.  We laughed as we saw things like: "City of Fairburn: Closed".  We stayed up late, just because it felt like a special night.

And although I'm pleased that it will be back up to nearly 50 degrees by the weekend, I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying this snowy day.  Now I just have to convince Jim to go sledding with me...

brr.

It's very, very cold here.  I know just what I need to warm my heart...
I must admit that although I don't prefer the cold weather, it is certainly a reminder that it is, in fact, December. It suddenly feels a lot more like Christmas!
